The Masterplan

I decided to rename this personal blog The Masterplan. If Ben Horowitz is known for quoting rappers in his blog posts, I can easily take the spot for Britpop bands.

The Masterplan is a song by English band Oasis, written by Noel Gallagher, and was released in 1995.

I bought the CD when I was 10 or 11 and I remember being mind blown by that song. For of all I didn't know where England was and I simply didn't understand the song. The music was weird (there's a reversed guitar solo I could not figure out) and the lyrics were confusing. Was there a Masterplan or not? I didn't know what to do with it for a few years. The song is quite deceptive and vague.

Take the time to make some sense
Of what you want to say
And cast your words away upon the waves

But I discovered we should not be fooled by the title, there's no master plan. But there's a lot of trying to figure out what the master plan is. And that's exactly why I think this title is perfect for this blog.

And they...
Will dance if they want to dance
Please brother take a chance
You know they’re gonna go
Which way they wanna go
All we know is that we don’t know
What is gonna be

It doesn't matter if it eventually turns into a serious thinking blog or if it ends up as my psycho-pop journal. It matters that I write.

I’m not saying right is wrong
It’s up to us to make
The best of all things that come our way
And all the things that came have past
The answer’s in the looking glass

I like that last line. The answer's in the looking glass.
